There's some romance. And you have to root for the Partisans as they face the Evil Empire. I saw it as kid and thought even then how cool the Partisans were. (And on a historical note, they were the only homegrown resistence group to have a navy AND an air force). There were alot of 70's movies far worse---take The Gypsy Warrior and Escape to Athena for examples. I brought the same movie collection FOR this movie.
