Photos on the net (Avia B-71?)

Here is today’s photo.  This comes from the WW2 in color website.  The aircraft in the photo wasn’t identified on the site, but several commenters though it was a Russian SB-2.  I though it more likely to be an Avia B-71, the Czech built version of the SB-2.  Also, I think the cowling in the foreground is a French Bloch-151.  It is an interesting photo.  I’d appreciate your input to see if I am wrong or have missed anything in the photo.

  1. Regarding the engine cowling and two blade propeller either a russian build SB-2M-100 or Avia build B-71. The czech air force took delivery of 53 Tupolev with Hispano-Suiza 12 Ydrs engines and 3 machineguns (only one nose mounted but difficult to see in this picture). No doubt about the fighter on the left, Bloch for sure. Interesting indeed… Regards from France.

  2. Thanks for the input. I agree with your analysis. I’d love to know more on the particular aricraft in the photo if anyone has any more info as to this aircraft’s fate.
