Movie review: Time Limit (1957)

I am sure you’ve seen the ads on TV for Hulu.  It is the website where you can watch TV shows online.  I’ve been doing that for about a year now, catching Monk and Psych on USA Networks and House and Dollhouse on Fox as well as Chuck on MSNBC.  Watching online has numerous benefits, not the least of which is the ablility to “timeshift” your viewing time for the show in question.  The modelchild’s schedule often does not sync up with the network’s TV schedule.

It turns out that Hulu has movies as well.  While browsing the movies available online, I came across this one. Time Limit is a 1957 film that was apparently adapted from a stage play.  It starts Richard Widmark, Richard Basehart and Martin Balsam.  With a cast like that you can’t go wrong.  It is the story of the investigation prior to a courtmartial regarding a US POW who alledgely collaborated with the enemy.  It is kind of a cross between Stalag 17 and A Few Good Men.

It was a good movie.  Well acted with an interesting story that wasn’t obvious from the beginning.   Worth investing an hour and a half of your time watching.

Bonus:  We all know Richard Basehart went on to start in the Sci-Fi movie and TV series Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea, but this film also has someone else more famous for acting in a TV Sci-Fi series.  Can you identify the actress below?

Who is she? What was the show?
