Occupy Louisville

….appears to be a bust.  I was downtown by the park at lunchtime on a beautiful, warm day.  There were, perhaps, 10 protestors in total, 4 of whom appeared to be homeless men who were sleeping or getting free food.  There were lots of dirty dishes and a few tents and lots of sleeping bags, etc. but no activity on a day with good weather.

Occupy Louisville

Shocked, shocked, I tell you.

The Spit is in primer.  The photos are bad because the kids put fingerprints on the lens of my cell phone camera.

Primer Spit

Here are the gear and the exhaust.  I used Alclad II Jet Exhaust over black primer.  I really like the effect.

Wonder what 5 young guys from Morocco were doing in a Texas courthouse at 2 a.m. and why their van was full of photos from all over the US.  Read here.

Stolen Valor

The U.S. Supreme Court has agreed to hear the appeal regarding the constitutionality of the Stolen Valor Act, which makes it a crime to falsely claim military service or awards.  The 9th Cir. had stuck down the act as a violation of the First Amendment freedom of speech.  I’ve had an interest in first amendment law ever since law school.  I’ve though that that the 9th Cir. decision was somewhat suspect.  I’ll be interested in what the Supreme Court does with the case.

Prof. Eugene Volokh has a good analysis of the issues here.
