That is the model number of the latest Russian sub project.  Story here. So far the only 700th scale kit of the sub is this one. I am hoping that eventually we will get one in plastic.

The LCS

The US Navy needs more ships, including more coastal ships.  However, the Navy’s solution, the LCS is very controversial.  It has suffered cost overruns and their are questions about whether or not it can defend itself. Here is a summary of some of the issues.
