Beer review: Schofferhofer
Schöfferhofer is a German product. It is a combination of grapefruit juice and wheat beer. I know what you are thinking. Yuck. But I have to admit I was surprised at how good it is. I am not a huge grapefruit juice fan. However, the wheat beer takes the bitterness of the juice away. It is very refreshing. Also, since it is only about 2% abv, you can drink it without much worry about its alcoholic effect.
@JVLast of The Weekly SubStandard recommended it. He was right. Also, you should listen to the podcast. It is great.
2018 Modeling #17
Date: 2/25/2018
Time 9:30 p.m. to 10:45 p.m. (1.25hrs.)
2018 Total time: 19.64 hrs.
A good day modeling. Over an hour at the bench with some real progress made. The T-33 is sealed up. Now I have to hit the seams. The T-34/85 is coming along. It should be in primer soon.

5 places where WWIII could start in 2018
Interesting article. While they mention Taiwan, they don’t mention the South China Sea.
Underwater drones
An interesting article on the future of underwater drones. IMHO, subs will play a much greater part in an all out war than most people think. Underwater drones make that even more likely.
2018 Modeling #16
Date: 2/24/2018
Time 1:40 p.m. to 2:10 p.m. (.5 hrs.), 4:00 p.m. to 4:30 (.5 hrs), 9:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. (1.0 hrs)
2018 Total time: 18.39 hrs.
Finally got back to the bench after 10 days away. Sadly, my prediction that February would not be as modeling intensive as January is coming true. Worked on both the T-33 and the T-34/85. Both are progressing well. I suspect that as I predicted, the T-33 will require about 40 hours total to finish. The T-34/85 won’t take that long. Pictures with the next update.

B-1B
Modelcollect has released the box art for their upcoming B-1 kit. Looks nice, but I want the B-52 first.

P-7a
As I’ve noted previously, this year we are going to get a lot of models of aircraft used in the 1939 Poland campaign. Arma has released a P-7a kit as used in 1939. It looks good.

Su-57 combat deployment
It appears that Russia has deployed a couple of Su-57s to Syria for combat operational testing. Russia appears to be using Syria as a testing ground, much like Germany and Italy did in Spain. While the Su-57 won’t make much of a difference in ground attack operations, it is something that the US clearly has to consider their presence when operating strike aircraft over Syria. This area is getting more tense every day.
