SBS, one of my favorite manufacturers is coming out with a Fiat G.50.  This should be an awesome kit, as SBS does nothing but quality work.  Yea.

Norway 1940

A really nice high level analysis of the British failures in the 1940 Norway campaign.  I don’t think it lays enough blame at the feet of Churchill, who deserves a huge amount of blame, but nonetheless it is a good overview.

I have my doubts about this story.  I can’t imagine it would be worth it to give away that the F-35 had this level of capability.

2018 Modeling #24

2018 Total time: 29.78 hrs.

Marathon Saturday modeling session with guest modeler Scott “Skippy” King.  Since the Platz T-33 is on a deadline to get finished, I devoted all my time to it.  Got the seams filled and smoothed.  Refilled them and they are ready for final sanding.  This one should be ready for paint before too long.

Unfortunately, this is it for March.  Due to circumstances, I won’t be able to model for the first part of April.  I am now averaging less than 120 hours for the year. Given other changes in my life, I don’t see this getting better later in the year.

The ugliest aircraft

The TBM-3W Guppy may not be the ugliest aircraft ever made, but it is certainly in the running.  Now Sword is making a kit of it.  Canadians will be happy.

Blog update

My goal for 2018 has been to get more of my own modeling posted on the blog and to have at least one post a day.  So far, I had 2 days in January with no posts, 4 days in February and 6 days in March.  On the other hand, I had more posts in January that I have had in any single month since I started the blog.

I promise you, dear readers, that I will redouble my efforts.

2018 Modeling #23

2018 Total time: 26.63 hrs.

Managed to get a little time in at the bench.  March isn’t looking much better than February so far.  Worked on the Trumpeter T-34/85.  Work has slowed to a crawl as I am trying to improve the kit a little.

I have noticed that, in general, when I model solo, I can only get about an hour’s worth of work in before my eyes start to give into the strain and my back starts to hurt. Old age sucks.
