Story here.

  1. I read his book when it came out. His adjustments to American culture are what were most interesting to me. He had never seen anything like American grocery and retail stores and was convinced that they were part of an elaborate deception put on by his CIA minders. One morning they spread out a map and told Belenko they would drive to any city they could reach in a day and he could go into any stores he liked in that city. After that he was convinced.

  2. I remember the book well. I may still have a copy.
