Space tourists

SpaceX says they will take three tourists to the ISS next year.  While the idea of space tourists is at first pretty ridiculous and at a price tag of $55 million clearly elitist, on a longer term view, space tourism is probably a good thing as it will further commercialize and popularize space travel.  Frankly, back in 1969, I thought that in the 2000s we’d have stations in orbit with large number of people living and working in space.  Better late that never. 1. I’m OK with that. If I work hard and take risks I want to be able to spend my money I’ve earned any way I like – even stupidly.

  2. Agreed, but if I had $55M to burn, I’d definitely take this trip.
