Story here. Frankly, we need to be doing near constant Freedom of the Sea cruises in this area.

More good space news. Please hurry. (post in memory of Mike Nofsinger)
MiG-31 down
Kazakhstan lost a MiG-31 to an engine fire last week. Operating these has to be a real strain on the resources of that country.

A space sit-rep
I;ve known of Jim Dunnigan since the early 1980s when he was a war game designer. He has written several books including ones on war game design as well as the current military and political situations across the globe. He has a wealth of knowledge, especially when it comes to all things military, and space. Here is an excellent round up of the current situation, including the decline of Russian space operations, the rise of those in China and why every American owes Elon Musk a huge thank you. Airfix MiG-17 #8 Better late than never
The last time I posted an update was on April 4th. My apologies. While I have been building on the MiG, I haven’t posted an update. The model has been primed and the flaws revealed have been fixed. I have begun painting the underside blue. I preshaded and then applied a light base coat and a highlight coat. Here is where it stands.
