The new episode is out.  Give it a listen and let us know what you think.

  1. Great episode David. I sent an email, but I’ll go ahead and post the text of it here.

Thanks to David reminding me of your podcast I’ve finally listened to and finished one. Some thoughts, assuming my opinion matters, LOL:

    – Scale Model Graveyard: It’s not confusing at all. The auction starts at 2100 hrs Central Normal Time ever Friday night and ends at 2100 hrs Central Normal Time every Sunday. Period. Why? I’m not an admin, just a satisfied buyer and seller, is that the overwhelming majority on that group are M-F workers and don’t have time to manage their auctions during the week. I know that’s true for me. During the week at work, etc. I don’t have time to answer questions, “bump” my listing, etc. I’m at work, taking care of chores here at home, etc. The rigid structure of this works for me, and quite a few other folks I suspect, due to having a set end time every week, give me time to contact the buyer/seller on Sunday evening, and arrange trips to the PO to mail the following week, etc. That’s why I think it’s arranged the way it is.

    – Facing Book T-34 groups: Mike (sorry, don’t know your last name sir) could you direct me to the T-34 groups, both modeling and research, on the Facing Book? I’ve tried to find such, but came up pretty empty-handed. From your comments on this episode, it sounds like they’re pretty active groups since they had to spin the scale modelers off on their own. I’d appreciate a link if you would (FWIW, I used to be a militaria collector in the 80’s and 90’s. Had to seel the collection off in the 90’s, and nwo live vicariously through the collections of others. 🙂 One of my best pards has been a talking head on Antiques Road Show for some time now. Lord have mercy I get some good stories from him. )

    – David, maybe when this craziness is all over, I’ll be able to make it up to L’ville for a meet, and get to meet you and some of our 72nd Scale Air modeling pards in person. I’d really love that. Mike, I hope to meet you in person one day as well.”
