Sad news for 72nd scale modelers, Tamiya came out with their announcement of what new kits they are doing in 2021,, and sadly, nothing new in 72nd scale.

  1. Well, truth be told, I’m no disappointed as I’m going to go broke buying Arma kits this next year. 🙂 I just dumped a wad of cash on a bunch of Eduard Fokker D.VII’s, so I’ve got more than enough in the stash to keep me happy.

  2. I understand, but I was kinda hoping that Tamiya would scale down their P-38

  3. Tamiya came out with a marder in the last few months. It seemed to be “announced” at the last minute, moments before kits went on the shelf. I’m thinking this list may not reflect other things in the works.

  4. I’ve been watching some videos on YouTube on the history of various model companies. They’re quite interesting, and I especially enjoyed the one on Tamiya. I was unaware that Tamiya was a “family” business. The original “Mr. Tamiya” is long gone and his son was going to hand it down to the grandson of the original founder, but he suddenly, and tragically, passed away not too many years ago. Not sure what this means for the company.

  5. Hale. You are correct that Tamiya has a history of surprises. I wonder if it is an attempt to keep the competition guessing.
