I swear, it seems like ever day I run across a YouTube modeling channel I’ve never seen before. This is one that I found tonight.

Stuart was kind enough to have Mike and me on the podcast to talk about the recent Nats in Las Vegas.
The Scale Model Podcast – EP 79 – Mojo and Nationals
Episode 38 is out. Listen to Jim talk about the Nats.
The new one is out. Come listen about the Nationals.
The 2021 Nats is in the books. I’ve been home a bit over 24 hours and I wanted to jot down some of my thoughts while they are fresh in my mind. This is by no means a comprehensive report, but just some initial thoughts. More analysis may come later.
First, the guys in Las Vegas are to be commended on putting on a great show. This would have been a great show, even in normal times, but these times were anything but normal. There was so much uncertainty that the host chapter had to deal with, I cannot imagine. In addition they had to adapt to an ever changing situation, and did so, so seamlessly that most convention attendees probably did not notice.
Second, it was great meeting so many PMM listeners. Mike and I had no idea what we’d encounter when arranged to set up a table in the vendor room last year. So many listeners stopped buy and let us know how much they enjoyed the show. It was…humbling. It renewed our resolve to continue to improve the show however we can. Thanks.
Lastly, I want to give Jim Bates credit for a profound insight, possibly gained after consuming some modeling fluid in our hotel room. Jim pointed out that while the models and the vendors are the things you look forward to when anticipating a show, what you find when you get there, that the greatest part of the show is meeting an interacting with all of the other modelers, be it long time friends you see occasionally, or folks you’ve only interacted with online.
I came home very happy with the models I bought and the models I saw, but most importantly with the new friends I met and the old ones I got to see again. Thank you and I promises it only gets better from here.
Heading to Vegas soon. Listen here.
