I have the Eduard 72nd scale Fokker D.VII.  I think when I get around to it, I’d like to build a post-war Canadian one.

Looks like we will be getting the promised Me-109s in 72nd scale sooner than we might have thought.  See here.  Looks like they might have decided to start with the late 109s and possibly an Avia S-199.

I am a 72nd scale purist.  However, one area where deviation from God’s One True Scale make sense to me is WWI aircraft.  Given the size of these and the rigging required, I see the sense in building in 32nd scale if this is your area of interest.  The EXCEPTION to THAT EXCEPTION is Eduard is releasing a 72nd scale Fokker D.VII.  Given the beauty of Eduard’s 48th scale kit and the lack of rigging required on the Fokker, I expect this will be a popular model for those of us into 72nd scale.

Looks like Eduard is going to be releasing 72nd scale 109s.  Even with the recent Tamiya announcement, this is good news.

Eduard surprised visitors to the Nurnburg Toy Show with copies of their new 72nd scale Fokker D.VII kit.  It looks nice.

Our friend Jeff Groves posted photos on his blog of his recent batch of Spitfires from the Eduard kit.  I particularly like this one.  I saw it in person and it was stunning.

I am a 72nd scale purist.  However, I have some exceptions to that rule.  If you are building airliners 1/144th make perfect sense. (Thought there are plenty of good 72nd scale airliner kits.)  If you build WWI aircraft, I understand those who build in 48th, or even 32nd scale. (Thank you Wingnut Wings)   However, if I was tempted to build a WWI aircraft in God’s One True Scale, I can’t think of a better one than the upcoming Eduard Fokker D.VII.  Having seen their 48th offering, I am sure it will be great.
