Weird story here.  Most likely it is just an internet seller trying to boost their ratings on Amazon or eBay, but you can’t rule anything out when it comes to China.  Some were apparently sent to KY.

Everyone knows the Roswell, NM UFO event.  In these times the general public thinks of it as the first of the great post-WWII UFO incidents.  Less well known is an incident that occurred 6 months later near Bowling Green, KY and involved the crash of a KY ANG P-51.  Read here. (h/t Jim Bates)

I posted earlier about this story here.  It turns out the person that was killed was a local business owner whose business was next to where the crowd had gathered.  From the story it appears that the police have a suspect in the initial shooting, but don’t know how or who shot the business owner.

I am sure this will make things calmer

Same theme, different aggressor.  As conservation has kicked into high gear over the last 30 years, the comeback in wildlife has been amazing.  Black bear have been spotted near Louisville, and have even swum the Ohio river to once again enter Indiana.  I live in a very suburban area, and the talk of the neighborhood the last few weeks is the two coyotes that have been spotted in the neighborhood.  I am sure they’ve shown up because of the deer and raccoons that are ever present.

Like most states, Kentucky has its share of crazy politicians.  Why can’t we get people to run who aren’t either crazy, or politicians who are related to other politicians?

A really great article on the preservation of the Mill Springs battlefield site in southern Kentucky.  I need to go down and see this battlefield.
