I have recently decided to undertake a superdetail build on a 72nd Ki-44.  The first step in an superdetail project is research.  As such I have assembled the following reference material.

Monogram Closeup #14 Japanese Cockpit interiors part 1.

Medaled Pilots of the Japanese Army Air Force in WW II, Model Art Co. #416

Japanese Military Aircraft Illustrated, Bunrindo Co. Ltd.

Japanese Army Aircraft Colours & Markings in the Pacific War, Ian Baker

Japanese Aircraft Interiors 1940-1945, Robert C. Mikesh (Same photos as the Monogram book above.)

Emblems of the Rising Sun, Imperial Japanese Army Air Force Unit Markings, Pete Scott, Hikoki Pub.

Famous Airplanes of the World Nos. 16 (1989) and 147 (1985) Bunrin-DO Co. Ltd.

Aircraft Profile #255 Ki-44, John F. Brindley, Profile Publications

Camouflage and Markings of Imperial Japanese Army Fighters, Model Art #329

Ki-44 “Tojo” Aces of WWII, Osprey Aircraft of the Aces #100, Nicholas Millman

Date: 1/27/2013

Time: 10:26 a..m.- 11:17 p.m. and 9:00 p.m.-10:04 p.m.

Session time: 1 hour 55 minutes

Total time for the Year: 12 hours 1 minute.

Two separate sessions on this day.  Did not make a lot of substantive progress.  Paint on the SSBN, but it needs another coat due to my overly thinned paint.  Began work on a long-term project on the new Sword Ki-44.  The P-40 and the MiG-21 are in a long term holding pattern.
