I have a thing for the MiG-25.  I also, as has been previously established, have a thing for decals.  Thus, this will be high on my purchase list.

ICM has finally released a kit of this version.  I’ll wait for a review to see if they really made the necessary changes.

I love the MiG-25.  It is a brute of an airplane.  Here is a webpage with a lot of reference links.

A nice report on a Syrian Air Force base.  Apparently all the MiG-25s are now non-operational.  The base seems to be used mostly for helicopters and L-39s, which makes sense.  If you are fighting a low tech war, those are the type of aircraft you’d need.

Libyan rebel MiG-25s

I previously noted that the Libyan rebel group, Libya Dawn was reported to be trying to get ex-LAF MiG-25s flying again to use as bombers against government forces.

Much to my surprise, they apparently got at least one of the two-seat trainer MiG-25s flying.  Unsurprisingly it apparently crashed or was shot down while being used as a bomber.

In this photo, the rebel group has apparently put some sort of insignia on he aircraft.

I will be interested to see what happens next.

Apparently Libyan rebels are trying to get some MiG-25s flying again, and apparently using them for ground attack.  Color me amazed if they manage to do it.
