No progress

Have you ever had a day where you modeled a lot but felt you made no progress? That was me today. Not a good way to start 2021. It isn’t that I didn’t make progress, I am sure I did. It just isn’t visible to me. As I want to increase my pace in 2021, this was frustrating.

On the plus side, I got to see, in person a lot of modeling friends, including some I haven’t seen in a while. This was great and a big reason I don’t feel as bad as I otherwise would. Here is hoping that 2021 will bring a better modeling experience.

I’ve been blogging now for about 11 years.  Recently at the suggestion of a long time modeling friend, Mike Baskette, he and I have begun doing a modeling podcast.  It has just gone live. Give it a listen.  Send any comments to plasticmodelmojo@gmail.com.

My favorite Modeling tools #10: Trumpeter seam scraper

I don’t know what particularly possessed me to buy this item from my local hobby shop.  For years I’d used the classic #11 Xacto blade for seam scraping and it worked very well.  But I picked this tool up and I must say, I am impressed.  It works well, better than the #11 blade.  It is solid-feeling in your hand and the scraper portion of the tool is hefty enough that it does a good job and you don’t get the flex that you sometimes get with a #11.  Sometimes I buy a tool and rarely use it.  That isn’t the case with this.  It is a tool I use all the time at the bench.  Worth the cost.
