More modeling content

Listeners of the podcast know that one of my goals in each modeling project is to try new things. One of my current projects is really allowing me to do that. I am building the Minicraft B-52H for my brother who spent 20 years flying them. It is my first 1/144 scale kit (new thing #1)

While working on the kit, I used Tamiya lacquers for the first time. (new thing #2) See previous blog post. Also, on the recommendation of my podcast partner, I tried Citadel’s Nuln Oil shader. (new thing #3) So far I really like the way it came out.

This reminds me of the plan to use 747s as ACLM launchers.  Given the retirements of the 747s, I would not be surprised to see that idea revived.

Is this the future of air combat?  I suspect it will be a larger and larger aspect of it.  Interested to see where we will be in 20 years, if I make it that long.

Good to see the F-117 getting used in this manner.  I always thought we “retired” them too quickly.
