A-29 down

An Afghan A-29 apparently went down in Afghanistan due to mechanical issues.  A US instructor pilot was on-bard, but ejected and was rescued.

Buried in the story is the nugget about US based training of Afghan pilots being wound down because the Afghan trainees go AWOL when they get into the US.  Why would we continue to bring members of certain foreign military forces into the US for training?

Looks like the USAF is fully committed to these.  A 2023 initial deployment would be an amazing accomplishment and would completely change risk analysis in regard to kinetic use of force.

It appears that the US Space Force is more open to the use of reusable rockets to launch their sensitive payloads.  This makes sense given that SpaceX has proven the reliability of such items.  Hopefully this will lower the cost of our operations. (post in memory of Mike Nofsinger)

Looks like the USAF is beginning to have doubts about the effectiveness of fighter mounted laser weapons.
