Article here.  The current X-37B in orbit has been there almost two years.  It seems like the USAF keeps one in orbit at nearly all times. (Some great photos in this article.  I may  have to get the kit of this thing.)

More X-37B

Story here.  I am amazed that the USAF has managed to keep so much about the X-37 program secret.  It reminds me of the success they had with the F-117.  There is an amazing story here that we’ll one day hear and be amazed.

I didn’t realize that so many Nike missiles were deployed around Cleveland. (h/t to Jim Bates for the pointer)

The USAF is retiring their AC-130U  aircraft and replacing them with new-build AC-130J aircraft.  The new AC-130Js are getting some new armament as well.

UFOs and stuff

OK, stay with me for a few minutes.  As you know, UFOs have been in the news lately.  I blogged about the Navy’s new rules regarding reporting by pilots.  Well, recently, searching for something to watch, I came across Bob Lazar: Area 51 & Flying saucers on Netflix or Amazon Prime (I forget which).  Of course, I had heard of Lazar before.  He’s been a staple of the UFO community for years.  Frankly, I’m not particularly convinced by his stories.  Yet, watch that documentary, and then read this article, and tell me if it doesn’t sound, at least somewhat, like what he is describing.

So far, the latest Falcon Heavy mission looks pretty successful.  They’ve managed to land the side boosters, catch half of the payload fairing, and get satellites into orbit. (post in memory of Mike Nofsinger)
