I failed to post last weeks Sprue Cutters post.  I had it all ready to go, but things at work have been crazy and family obligations and an illness conspired to keep me from getting the post done.

This week the subject is: – How does your spouse (significant other) view your hobby? –

Bemusement.  She views it with bemusement.  The modelwife (her official nickname, but don’t tell her) isn’t a modeler. Neither does she really encourage the hobby.  When she and I were dating, and I first showed her ” the stash” (I mean the collection of unbuilt models; Get your minds out of the gutter) her first comment after looking at the collection of unbuilt kits was , “What were you thinking?”

The modewife has been to two Nationals, which has convinced her of one thing.  She is indeed married to the “Brad Pitt” of modelers.

I think that if she saw more finished models she might see a little more value in the hobby.  However, as a married attorney with two small children, my yearly production of one to four completed models a year is probably going to be as many as I can complete in a year.

Kermit’s take

Jim’s a lucky guy.

Mike Grant’s Always interesting comments.

Jereon eased his girlfriend into his hobby.
