A new USAF missile?

New to the USAF, that is.  It appear that the USAF is going to base a new missile for use in its next generation aircraft on the current USN Anti-radar ARM.  In this case there seems to be some actual cooperation between the services to make a weapon usable by both.  Hopefully it will save some money as well.

Virginia class SSNs

Looks like the Block V versions of the Virginia class SSNs will be getting additional weapons capabilities.  More and more, subs are being seen as cruise missile delivery platforms.  This latest upgrade seems to confirm this.  My prediction is that UUVs will become one of the things that these SSNs ultimately end up carrying and launching. (h/t to Jeff “Inch High” Groves).

Indian ASAT

It appears that India has joined the ASAT club.  Next to nukes, IMHO, having an ASAT capability will come to define what is a first rate military power in the future.  I predict that in the not too distant future, we’ll see a war where the participants go after each others satellites.
