As always, Mr. Lee has some well expressed thoughts, this time on one of my favorite subjects, the business side of the hobby.
A month or so ago, the online Gundam modeling community buzzed about Bandai’s distribution policies, which apparently changed in recent months to curtail sales to international buyers of kits intended for the Japanese domestic market.

The TL;DR is that Bandai is cracking down on gray market sales of their kits outside of the domestic Japanese market. Bandai is attempting to channel sales in regions outside of its principal Japan market through its designated, official regional distributors.
