I noticed these at Hannants.  I might have to pick them up.  Yes, I am sick.

Interesting discovery

An amazing discovery at a constructions site in NY.  It appears that the bodies of 11 patriots have been found, soldiers who served during the Revolutionary War.  The news report seems to indicate that it is being handled with the respect that the discovery deserves.

This story fascinates me.  It has been going on for years.  I recently spoke with friend of the blog, Jim Bates, who lives in the area, and surprisingly he had never heard anything about it.

Airbus A380

Airbus is ceasing production of the A380.  This is not a surprise as the plane never sold in the numbers anywhere close to those needed to make it commercially viable.  There is speculation that when you factor in the development costs, that Airbus lost money on the A380.  The boys at Boeing look all the smarter for not competing with the A380.

The wreckage of the Hornet has been located.  This is good news.  Some of the photos released so far are very interesting.

Story here.  I am not above believing this is a cover story to convince Iran that the defection is real while actually planting a spy.  Interesting.

The Opportunity rover has finally been declared dead.  It was supposed to work for 3 months and ended up lasting 15 years.  That is a real tribute to the engineers at NASA.  While IMHO, we need a moon base, the real target should be men on Mars.  Opportunity got us closer to that goal.  Rest well little rover. (post in memory of Mike Nofsinger)

More Venezuela news

As protests continue, this story highlights some of the human cost of socialism.  BUT, never forget, a majority of the Venezuelans brought this on themselves by buying into all the promises socialists made. Promises of an easier life and a guaranty that the government would take care of them.  They always promise this.  They never deliver.

While I am not a personal fan of the senior senator from Kentucky, the man is clearly one of the great politicians of his time.  Up there with Tip O’Neil and Daniel Patrick “Pat” Moynihan.
