Belarus

The country of Belarus has apparently seen the movie White Knights.   For those of you who haven’t seen it, Mikhail Baryshnikov plays a Russian dancer who defected and while flying to Tokyo, his plan is forced down in the Soviet Union.  It is an OK movie.

Apparently a leading Belarussian dissident was on a Ryanair flight flying over Belarus.  The government reported a bomb threat to the plane and sent a fight to escort it to land in Belarus.  Once on the ground there, the dissident was pulled from the flight and appears to have been imprisoned.

As you can imagine, this isn’t going over well with other countries.  Airlines are avoiding Belarus airspace and airlines are cancelling flights in and out of the country.  Some are pointing out that if they get away with doing this, other countries will do it too.

I’d have been an architect.  I love this YouTube channel.  There is a part of me that just wants to build buildings from scratch.

Update

Filed under: Modeling — dknights @ 12:17 am

Just a general update with some observations.

First, white is a hard color to paint.  I have a rule that I never paint a pure white or a pure black.  You may have heard me say this on the podcast.  I usually add a touch or blue, gray or tan to the white.  That is what I did on the AA-5 Ash missiles for the Tu-128.  It worked well, but, frankly, I struggled with getting the paint on the missiles.  Not sure why I struggle so much.  I got fuzz in the paint.  Not sure why or how.  I think I have it knocked out, but it was more of a struggle than it should have been

Second, wear the damn Optivisor™.  My eyes have declined over the years,  Yet, because I am nearsighted, I have thought that I can work in modeling close up.  I can’t.  In short, wear the damn Optivisor™.

Third, get over your fear.  The M-30 and Mossie have not made the progress that they should have.  The reason on the M-30 is that I don’t know what the heck I am doing.  On the Mossie, I am not sure why I have been putting it off.  In any event, Fear is the mind killer.

Don’t fear.  Go bravely forward.  Even if you screw up, you make progress.
